My story

When this young female dog arrived at Ballena Beach (near Colibri) in July, she was extremely wary. Calm and reserved, she refused all contact with humans. Since mid-August, thanks to the patience of Sylvie—one of our volunteers—and especially the bond she formed with the dog, Mimi has begun to change. She now accepts petting, plays, and is gradually seeking out contact. We estimate her age to be 10–11 months. Her developed mammary glands could also indicate that she has already had a litter. She is a gentle dog—still fearful, yet quiet and playful—who simply needs to regain her confidence. However, having lived on the streets, she will need a calm, patient, and kind family willing to give her the time she needs. ❤️ Our goal is to give her a chance to leave the streets behind once a family life becomes possible. Donations help fund veterinary care, food, spaying/neutering, treatments, and—whenever possible—foster care to properly prepare these dogs for adoption. This little dog has already taken the first step: she is starting to trust. Now it is up to us to give her the chance to have a home. 🐾❤️
